Luxembourg

Last weekend we were in Luxembourg. What a place! It's such a lovely, warm city, I will definitely be back again!

It's amazing how...it was not packed with people, which was great! Never once, did we have to swim through loads of people on any street...heaven! The only downside to it, like any other European cities, is that absolutely everything closes on Sunday.

The first day was quite tiring as we had to leave Oxford at 4am to catch the plane. So after a few hours of sightseeing in the old town area, we took a nap in our hotel room and only came out for dinner! We couldn't decide where to eat (the place is heaving with restaurants and cafes!) so ate at a Mexican restaurant in the Place d'Armes while watching a drum band performing outside.

The next morning, we went on a tour bus and found that the city was bigger than we thought. Didn't forget to buy typical souvenirs and more windowshopping.

After lunch, we went to the Casemates de la Petrusse which are tunnels running for 13 miles under the city. That was a bit of an adventure as it went on for ages! Hubby didn't enjoy it so much as most of the tunnels were teeny weeny but that was fine for lil ol' me :-P

Just before we went to the hotel to rest, we found out that there was going to be a Luxembourg late night marathon. So the evening was spent walking around the city center, cheering on the runners. There was music on every corner of the street...lovely.

The next day, because all the shops were closed, we took the opportunity to visit the big park in the valley. We spent an hour on a touristy train, Petrusse Express which took us around the valley. After that, we spent two hours at the park... me napping and Hubby playing on the Nintendo DS. Also, more sightseeing as the weather was just so warm!

I wished we could have brought home their white asparagus (which looked like a penis, hehe) and a big loaf of bread as theirs seemed so much nicer! Oooh, managed to get some trendy and skinny Vogue ciggies, which I can't seem to find in UK anymore. Hubby ate LOADS of cakes and desserts as they seem to be big on that (as opposed to chocolates for most European cities).

I can't wait to go a mini break again in August. Where shall we go? I want to go somewhere cool as it would be the hottest month in Europe. Iceland?? Anyway, here are some pics:
