myzephyr's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the last two weeksDate: Sunday, Jun. 04, 2006 Time:8:43 p.m. Ah, this weekend has been reeeeeally hot :-( I'm not sure if I like it! S*zie came to Birmingham this week, all the way from Malaysia for work (lucky girl!), and we were planning to meet up but with her tight schedule, it wasn't to be. Next time eh! Anyway, we're meeting up in less than two months, woohoo. Although we didn't meet up, we managed to speak on the phone for a couple of hours. I had thought of meeting her there even for a few hours but didn't realise she was to leave on Friday. My bad, I think she told me when she was leaving, but it didn't register in my brain *duh* Anyway, two weeks ago, Hubby had a training course in London and I took two days off to be with him. The hotel was lovely. I managed to meet up with my Mexican mother, who now lives in London. Didn't manage to see her son, who is my friend, but another time. She told me off for not telling her when I was coming, ooops. But I bought her a bouquet of flowers to make it up to her lol. Oh, I managed to do some serious shopping hehehe. Got some tops from H&M but couldn't find a decent jacket at MNG but I did find one in Gap. And I bought a Prada bag at Selfridges, hehehe. It was not cheap but hey, I did want to treat myself for getting a job, and the last time I got one was four years ago. Anyway, last weekend was pretty busy for us. On Saturday afternoon, my workplace had a Garden Party. Although it rained throughout the whole time, Hubby and I had great time. He was really jealous that I'm working there, of the beautiful old buildings, hehe. There was a jazz band that played great music the whole day, under a marquee, lucky buggers. There were a couple of recreation games for the children and Hubby enjoyed playing the bucket game lol (most of the pics were of last year's Garden Party, but they look exactly like this year's except no rain!)
Because it was the E*i*g*h*t*s week, we went to the boathouse later to see the rowing but like most people, we didn't know who had won. Later I found out that the College I work for got third place for both the mens and womens races. Later in the evening, we quickly dressed up for Hubby's company anniversary dinner. We didn't enjoy it as much as my work's Garden Party but we did come home with a free photo!! There was a professional photographer there, hired by Hubby's company and took people's pictures for free! The last time we had something nice like this taken of us was when we got married six years ago lol I look really chubby there :-( And Hubby looks a Chinese guy! Hmm, where should I put it? P.S: Hi Neri!! Thanks for dropping bye :-D ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
