Msia 2006
Date: Friday, Jan. 27, 2006
Time:11:40 a.m.

Hellooooooo. Yes, we are back from our Msia trip. I have been feeling terribly homesick and really upset that I haven't got a permanent job yet.

I didn't get the job which I went for 2 interviews for. I'm reeeeeeally upset about it not because I wanted it, but because I'm itching to start selling this house. And I can't sell this house until I get a permanent job which would allow me to apply for a mortgage.

But I am really pleased that they asked me to go for the job, although I never did look for it (I only posted my cv for casual work!). And to have gone through for the second interview was an achievement for me, especially since this was only my third proper interview since graduating!

So I will start looking for work this weekend and hopefully will be getting more temping work at the University. But how can I be motivated to look for work if I am sooooo terribly homesick?

I'm meeting a friend today for tea but have decided that I will cancel it cos I'm too sad to go out. I know it's a bad move, and I will probably feel better after talking to her but fuck it.

So, about my trip to Msia! I loved it although I hardly met any of my family members :-( Everyone was busy...I should have come during the Chinese New Year holiday!

I reeeeally wanted to go to Pangkor Island but when the right time came, I had a cold and slight asthma! The unfortunate thing is, although I'm going home again in July, we won't have enough time to go there as it will only be a short holiday so next year then :-(

But I did manage to spend loads of time with my mom. And we had tons of steamboat meals. I looooooooove steamboat. Also I spent more time with my sister this time round which is cool. AND my friends!!!!

I think Hubby enjoyed this holiday a lot more than before because we managed to stay longer in KL. The first nights we stayed at Hilton and the last nights at Meridien. I think it makes him feel more on holiday compared to when we just stay at my mom's house. He is also very pleased that I got to see more of my friends compared to the other times.

Oh, talking about the hotels, I'm surprised at how pricey Hilton is. I take it Le Meridien, although just next door, is a 4-star compared to Hilton which is a 5-star but Meridien is much more cheaper! Hilton charges RM5 per min on the phone but Meridien only RM1.50. May not matter to most ppl, but we use the phone a lot for communication with ppl we're seeing. Although both hotels charge a lot for beverages at their lounges. At Hilton alone, we were charged RM700 just for the drinks we had with friends. I'm pretty sure we were there only for 6-7 times max.

All in all, le Meridien is much better price-wise although Hilton would be better if you don't use the phones and don't drink/eat at the lounges :P

I didn't do much shopping. Only got myself 3 tops and a dress. No shoes this time, what a surprise! And not much food as before. I couldn't find any instant curry, korma and lemak sauces, boohoo, so won't have these for the next 6 months (no way am I making any from scratch!) :-( And only 3 cartons of ciggies, usually it's 6! But I did bring a bottle of kicap tamin :-)

OK! Pix time!

Cindy! Of course I remember you! I still have your pics with your cute baby! He must be a lot older now! Have you not got a blog now? Tried emailing you but it was returned to me, this was years ago though. Keep in touch!
